Volunteer support for Wycliffe (Calgary based Organization) in Nordegg to raise fund

As part of NCSC ongoing effort to encourage the society members to do volunteer works for other Calgary based government and non government organizations, 20 volunteers from NCSC were involved in Wycliffe’s fund raising program “Race to 2025: Treasure in Asia” which was held at Nordegg (near rocky mountain village) on February 14, 2010. NCSC volunteer team installed a Nepali village with traditional decoration and served Nepali typical food for guest racers. At the Nepali village, all NCSC volunteers pretended that they were from a rural community and nobody could understand the English language. They communicated with guests (48 Canadian racers) in Nepali language and gestures. The event was full of fun and our kids also enjoyed playing in the snow field and roasting marshmallows.

National Coordinator for Wycliffe, Mr. Derryl Friesen conveyed their sincere greetings to all the people from NCSC who came and joined the program. He informed that more than $40,000 was raised by the young people of Canada for literacy and education for underprivileged people in South Asia.
