Nepali New Year 2068 was celebrated in Calgary

On the eve of Nepali New Year 2068 that begins on 14 of this month, Nepali community in Calgary celebrated the approaching New Year, on 9 April 2011 with extreme joy and fervour amidst a huge social gathering of Nepali community members and guests at Marlborough Community Hall. The program was started with Nepali Anthem followed by Canadian Anthem by a group of Nepali boys and girls dressed in traditional costumes of different Nepali ethnic communities. President of Nepalese Community Society of Calgary Mr. Jagdish Chapagai welcomed the guests and participants with New Year`s greetings. The participants enjoyed various cultural dances, songs and performances held. On the occasion, various eight personalities were honoured for their contribution to the development of Nepali community in Calgary. Member of Legislature Assembly, Honourable Mr. Bhular also expressed his heartfelt greetings and attachment to Nepali community. Vice-President of NCSC Mr. Bharat Regmi conveyed the vote of thanks at the end of the program. Ms Bibhu Ojha was the master of ceremony.
