NRN-CANADA CONFERENCE

 

Nepalese Community Society of Calgary (NCSC) and Calgary Nepalese Community Association (CNCA) hosted a day-long conference at the Temple Community Association, 167 Templegreen Road NE, Calgary on Saturday June 27th 2009. This conference is expected to stir up various issues of Nepalese communities, identify common well-cherished values of Nepalis in Canada to promote and safeguard their heritages, traditions and cultures and bring up ways forward that would eventually facilitate effective integration of Nepalis with a distinct identity into the Canadian multicultural society.

 

The conference will be attended by members of Nepalese organizations in Western Canada covering Alberta (Edmonton and Calgary); British Columbia (Vancouver), Saskatchewan (Saskatoon and Regina) that share common ground in delivering programs and services to their community. Invitees and keynote speakers to the conference are the delegates from Non-Resident Nepalis (NRN)-Canada’s National Co-ordination Council (NCC), International Co-ordination Council (ICC) and other members of Nepalese communities across Canada, Nepalis Americas Council (NAC), USA; Nepal’s diplomatic mission for Canada (Toronto) and local dignitaries.
